Our story
In 2012 Julia Stein founded the practice with one clear idea: therapy should start where everyday life becomes difficult. One treatment room has grown into five, and one therapist into a team of six specialists.

Practice owner, occupational therapist
Bobath therapist, pediatric specialist
Julia founded Mendwell in 2012 after ten years in neurological rehabilitation. She works with children and adults after a stroke or with developmental delays and coordinates the treatment plans of the whole team. Her focus: therapy goals that really matter in everyday life, agreed together with patients and families.

Certified hand therapist, mirror therapy
Mateo is our specialist for hands and arms. After fractures, tendon injuries or surgery he guides patients from the first splint back to full strength. He also visits older patients at home and adapts their surroundings so that daily tasks stay safe and manageable.

Mindfulness trainer (MBSR), psychiatric occupational therapy
Aylin works with people facing stress, burnout or depression. With mindfulness training and clear daily routines she helps patients regain energy and confidence step by step, and she prepares a gradual return to work together with employers and doctors.

LSVT BIG certified, pain therapy
David supports people with Parkinson's disease, chronic pain and cognitive changes. With LSVT BIG he trains large, confident movements, and in pain therapy he combines exercise with pacing strategies for work and home. Patients value his calm explanations and clear home programs.

Perfetti concept, home visits
Jonas joined the team straight after his studies and brings fresh ideas from current research. He uses the Perfetti concept to rebuild perception and movement after neurological illness and is often out on home visits, where therapy happens right where it is needed.

Your contact for appointments, referrals and billing
Sabine is the first voice you hear when you call us. She organizes appointments, checks referrals and answers questions about costs and insurance. Thanks to her, our therapists can focus on their patients, and new patients quickly find their way around the practice.

Our practice is located in a renovated period building in the heart of Maplewood: high ceilings, plenty of daylight and rooms that invite you to take part.

We coordinate referrals, goals and progress closely with GPs and specialists.
With partner practices we plan treatments that complement each other.
On request we advise educators and teachers on site.
We guide relatives and care teams so that exercises work at home too.
